Sunday April 17

Lake Havasu City to Black Canyon City

Three pics as we leave Buckskin Mountain State Park...the Colorado River is pretty in the morning light, and there was an egret on the other side. And we drove past a blooming saguaro on our way through town, we got so excited! Little did we know how many we would see...!

Saturday night we had talked about what we would do Sunday. We decided to drive through Quartzsite to Phoenix and (using the Lonely Planet Arizona guide for the first time) picked the Musical Instrument museum in Phoenix as the other thing we would do, in the afternoon. We didn't decide where to spend the night until we were done at the museum. Of the choices, it looked like Black Rock Canyon KOA was the best place; I called and they had a space they would save for us. Not a big problem, we turned out to be the only tent campers that night.

We got there and it wasn't awesome, but was decent. We set up tents and made dinner, and chilled. Our campsite had its own blooming saguaro, which Jo Nell emulated, and there I am between the tents and my wonderful truck Boudika. The sunset is pretty, and the rest of the campground was full of nice people, several of whom we had conversations with. A good KOA!
